Produced by Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation), Proponent for Sentience is a musically complex, intelligent, and absorbing concept record that can rightfully sit alongside the true greats of the medium. With a lyrical arc rooted in science-fiction yet uncomfortably encroaching upon the reality of the present, it captures the Fort Collins, Colorado natives at their most ambitious and accomplished, pushing the boundaries even further than on their three previous critically acclaimed full-lengths. See below for the official track-listing

ALTER BRIDGE has released a lyric video for the song
“My Champion”
, taken from the band’s fifth studio album, “The Last Hero”, due on October 7 by Caroline Records in the United States/Canada and Napalm Records throughout the rest of the globe.“My Champion” climbs from a swell of delay into an impressive guitar lick before singer Myles Kennedy delivers one of the most spirited choruses of ALTER BRIDGE‘s career to date.

“The lyric was actually inspired by thinking back to my situation as a kid,” Myles says. “I was this really small, underdeveloped kid who had to work extremely hard to keep up with all of my peers. It was very frustrating. I would hear a lot of words of encouragement from parents, coaches, or teachers though. A lot of those things were stored away, and they manifested themselves in this song. I’ve been able to apply some of those concepts in my life a thousand times over since then.”

ALTER BRIDGE is heading out on select U.S. headline dates in support of “The Last Hero” and select ticket purchases will come with a digital album. The headline run kicks off September 22 in Destin, Florida. The band will also perform at a few festival dates this fall, including the inaugural Houston Open Air, Sonic Boom, Louder Than Life and the Tulsa State Fair.

ALTER BRIDGE is Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums.

The Last Hero” is now available for pre-order via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Fans who order the album will receive an instant download of “Show Me A Leader“. The album is also available in various fan bundles
In addition, a new shirt design has been made available to mark the occasion of the video release.

“The Last Hero” was produced by longtime friend and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette (SLASH, TREMONTI, TRIVIUM) and mastered by Grammy Award winner Ted Jensen.

Having spent the summer on tour with Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin and Saint Asonia, Alter Bridge will kick off a headlining tour in September that includes a handful of festival appearances as well. See dates for the run below.

bg_events “This particular release stayed on our metal radar although anything since 2006 Amon Amarth sounded generally weak.

Chimaira-ChimairaRating: 7.0 Artist:  CHIMAIRA
Album:  CHIMAIRA : 2006
is the third studio album by Cleveland Ohio Metallers  CHIMAIRA, released on August 9, 2005.the album would be the band’s final release under Roadrunner Records and the only one to feature Kevin Talley on drums.Recorded at Spider Studios in Ohio with producer Ben Schigel, who has described the the material as having “more of an epic kind of vibe.

bg_events “What else you can say about CHIMAIRA, you can’t accuse them of taking the easy way out! But with a defiant middle finger raised CHIMAIRA goes against the grain of what popular bands are “supposed” to do in this musical climate.”

Rating: 8.0 Artist: Hatebreed
Supremacy :2006
Hatebreed is an American metalcore band from Connecticut, formed in 1994. Their musical style blends influences from hardcore punk and heavy metal; a prominent band within the hardcore scene, they have also been considered part of the metal scene.

bg_events “Yes, this was definitely written just to grab your attention. Jasta’s lyrics are very direct and don’t sound as philosophically sophisticated as the album title might suggest!!
